Hardware

A desk object with a backbone.

TaskMate is a regular octahedron — eight equilateral triangular faces — engineered around a WiFi microcontroller, motion sensing, and a chargeable cell. It is not a toy BLE pebble. It is a small networked instrument.

Form

Regular octahedron with ~52mm edge length. Rests stably on a face (not a corner). Matte charcoal body intended for PETG/ABS-class finishes. USB-C panel opening on a lower side face for everyday charging.

Palm-scale. Dense enough to feel intentional. Quiet enough to disappear until you flip it.

Inside the stack

Core components selected for a WiFi-first time cube — measured pockets in the v2 enclosure layout.

Sensing that matches the ritual

The MPU-6050 reads gravity relative to the cube. Firmware maps stable orientations to eight calibrated facets. You calibrate once — place each side up and confirm — then TaskMate recognizes your vocabulary of postures.

Flip to Meeting. Flip to Focus. Flip to Break. The hardware event becomes a software session.

USB-C port detail on TaskMate

WiFi-native

Events go to your TaskMate API over the network. No mandatory phone companion for every flip.

Offline queue

On-device queue (LittleFS) stores facet events when WiFi is unavailable, then flushes when back online.

Serviceable layout

Tray-based electronics stack: battery, charger, MCU — designed for fit tests and iteration.

Manufacturer standard

Built like a product, not a prototype drop.

Long-term trust means fit checks, material choice (PETG/ABS-class), USB alignment, and batch QA before a unit leaves. We’d rather ship a clean batch than a fast one.

Measured stack

Battery, charger, and MCU pockets sized from real modules — not guesswork enclosures.

Batch QA

Pre-orders fund a proper run: shell/tray fit, port alignment, charge path, then ship window you can trust.

Cloud while you wait

Free Cloud labels and sessions start now. When the cube arrives, calibration maps your faces to the same account.

Reserve a unit from the quality batch.
